The Syilx are a beautiful people living in a beautiful land of rivers and lakes. They live in valleys between mountains covered in green forests. A long time ago, whatever the Syilx needed, it was there to be had.
In those days, life was not easy, but we had everything that we needed to live. Now many things have changed in Syilx territory, but we still live here. We still fish, gather roots and berries. We hunt, gather and make our medicines. We pray for our land. We sing and we medicine dance. And we still speak our language.
